lol...i guess maxtor improved build quality over the past several years. i remember replacing them almost on a daily basis when i was a pc tech. especially on the compaq and hp machines. we'd always replace with wd or seagate, just to make sure they never came back in for hdd problems.

Those thiner than usual maxtor hdisks usually cost the most problems , few of my friends and colleagues had those hdisks and most of them fails after a year of using it.

ive had a western digital give me the dreaded click of death. but after i left it in the fridge and banged it around a couple of times it worked again. maxtors are really quiet. i like maxtors.

maxtor, i've had 2 wd hds go out on me in the past 2 years
