What the heck is up with the nasty sounds I hear when I download music. 20 seconds or so into it and *WHIRRRRRR* *SCREEEEEECH* all this stuff. Is it some kind of plan to stop people from downloading?

it might be copy protection...
idunno, but then that doesnt explain why people would keep these non-workin files on their HD???

oh yea that is the riaa all u have to do is download kazaa lite. which is rare now. and update something called ip blocker. what that does is block as much of the bad iles as possibel from turning up in your search
