well it all depends on what you want it for. the ati all in wonder cards are the best. the come with tv card and a load of other nice stuff. nvidia card is also cool. u have the advantage of brand name. like shoes nike Vs Reebok with nvidia being nike. i recommend u go with 1 of the ati all in wonder cards they are kinda expensive but they got a load more stuff than nvida. with that card u can watch tv on your pc i got a nvidia fx 5200 funs fine.

Ati 9800 XT 256mb is the top of the line card at the moment.

If you can wait, something new might be coming that blows the pants off of that.

But don't quote me on that...

the way i see it is buy what you can afford. both are great cards. newer, faster and better graphics cards are coming out as often as new processors are. i guess moore's law is finally encompassing the entire computer field now. everything is changing (for the better) at such a fast pace that you can never keep up with technology. we're always playing catchup. so get whatever card you can afford.

Went with ATI all in wonder cards until 128 pro, finally changed to Nvidia when they came out with video IN/Out solution, thinking they were best for gaming, and the tables supposedly turned, Still very happy with it but...

the nvidia is beggining to come to the end of its life. the times are changing and ati 9600 pro is coming to take over. look out for an agp 8x with 1gb ram. it'll annihilate the nvidia.
