The Samsung Galaxy S4 is getting ready to hit the market in full force and carriers around the world are making the necessary preparations to deliver the device to their clients. In Canada, a handful of mobile operators have already shown their interest in retailing the handset, opening pre-registration pages and officially announcing that the S4 will hit the shelves in the future. However, until now no exact release date or pricing-related information has been given.

Nevertheless, the clock is ticking and TELUS has recently broke the ice by being the first carrier to offer the SGS4 for pre-order. The carrier in question offers the 16 GB version for $199 alongside a 3-year contract. The handset is set to get launched on May 3rd but TELUS customers that will pre-order the device might receive the smartphone earlier, starting with April 26th. A word of warning though, TELUS claims that this "early-access" offer is valid while quantities last.

After the above mentioned carrier has fired-up its SGS4 pre-order page, other Canadian carriers have followed. Samsung Canada has also twitted that the flagship will begin arriving on April 27th.

The Galaxy S4 is also available for pre-order at Bell, Virgin and Rogers at the price of $199.95 alongside a 3-year agreement, or $699.96 outright. Keep in mind that these prices correspond to the 16 GB model.

Videotron has also started offering the Galaxy S4 for pre-purchase, once again at the price of $199.95 on-contract. The outright price is a bit lower though -$649.95, so you might want to look into that if you're planning on buying the handset off-contract.

For the majority of smartphone enthusiasts the SGS4 might need no introduction at this point, but as a reminder, what you'll get for your money is a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz, an Adreno 320 graphics chip, 2 GB of RAM, expandable storage via microSD (up to 64 GB), a 13 MP camera on the back with HDR and Optical Image Stabilization, a 2 MP camera on the front, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the latest version of TouchWiz on top and a 2,600 mAh battery.
