Good day all. I have a Nokia 6340i. Originally, when i became a Cingular
customer I bought a motv60gi. This phone worked well. I then bought a
nokia 6340I from Ebay and was able to put my gsm sim in to it and also have
the tdma side activated. My plan didn't have to be changed. What I would
like to know is can I put my wife's sim in to this phone and still have the
tdma activated or is the esn tied to my gsm sim and phone number? Thanks.

ESN is hardcoded solely to the phone

What an interesting way to ask a question.
The answer depends on what plan you are paying for; GSM, Multiband (GAIT) or
local.

With a SIM swap like you've proposed, the GSM will work. The
phone number (MIN) in the SIM won't match with the ESN on
TDMA; that won't work. After you notify Cingular of the
phone change on her account, it will work (plan permitting).

Re: Gatephones, will different sim work?
C started to bar GAIT and GSM from mixing SIMS
If you put a GSM SIM in your GAIT phone it may work and you may get
charges on your bill too.
I would stick to the GSM only. My$.02
