I have a motorola mpx200 that is unlocked and using a cingular sim.
I'm visiting south west florida (boca raton) and noticed the only
signal I can get is AT&T and T-Mobile. No cingular.
Is the cingular gsm network 850 only or is cingular "sharing" an
existing network similar to their agreements with t-mobile in
california and new york?

Yes, the Cingular coverage on the Atlantic coast side
of Florida is all 800 MHz plus the Orlando area and
minus the Fort Pierce area (1900 MHz TDMA). Much of
the remainder of the state is covered on 1900 MHz.

I guess I'll find out how much i got dinged by roaming on t-mobile and
ATTWS. That is until my mpx200 decided to crash and not recover.
<sigh>
The phone showed no signal, wouldn't shutdown. pulled the battery and
then the phone went into a continuous reboot cycle until the battery
died. would not charge and would not turn on with battery removed but
plugged into the wall.
Did not work with either my original ATT sim or my cingular sim.
I guess that is what i get for using a phone using windows ce...
