I'm getting this new phone in a few days, on ebay it states it is Unlocked
without any branded labels, etc...
Does anyone know what needs to be done to set it up to work with Cingular?
Can I use my insurance I have with Cingular and put this phone under the
plan?
Thanks in advance!

Just plug your sim in and you're ready to go. i understand Cingular is
selling the phone now, so maybe they'll insure it.

Not true on the first. If the phone is unlocked, it will work just
peachy on Cingular. I have bought several unlocked phones on eBay and
simply dropped my existing sim into them. Examples of phones I have
used from eBay: An ericsson T39, and R380W and right now a Treo 600. I
don't know what networks the T39 and r380 came from, but for sure the
Treo did not come from Cingular.
Both of my daughters have pay as you go (Go Phone) sims that are running
with phones that I bought second hand from eBay. They are a cost
effective solution for teenagers who can lose or destroy the phone.
Since it's pay as you go, and it never has more than 20 bucks on it, the
consequences of the phone getting lost at a coffee shop are very
limited. I bought the phones for around 30 bucks each.

Re: Motorola Razr V3i
So, there is no settings necessary, I just drop the sim card, and everything
will be cingular functional? I'll try it - I haven't received it yet, but
hopefully it'll work! thanks!
