Quick question: Anybody know the comparative prices of these two (I'm in
Australia, but any prices will do)? I'm looking to upgrade my old (old, old,
etc.) R310s to either of these. The feature lists look identical, so is it
simply a matter of price vs. styling? I've got big hands so I imagine the
Z600 is the way to go, but I'm looking for impressions, please.

Okay, just found the "Z600 suck in terms of size!" thread, but am still
interested in comparative prices. Anybody, please?

Thanks for that, looks like it might have to be the T610. Anybody else have
any thoughts on the subject.

Re: Phone comparison: T610 vs. Z600
I Just brought the Z600 new from eBay also, but picked up in Melbourne for
$589.00....it is a fantastic phone,.....well balanced and is feature
packed...and whats more it works a treat.........has many features my old
t39 had, and many more................in fact I'm still finding nifty little
features almost a week after purchasing....my only nag is the brightness of
the screen in sunny conditions outdoors.............this I have compensated
a little by using a very bright, white background picture, as my
wallpaper...................the keys are small and may be awkward if you
have clumsy hands.........as was the case with me....but can be mastered
after much practice. I havent put it down in a week....I'm hooked.
Hope this helps

I bought a Z600 a couple of weeks back from a Telstra shop, it was about
$700. I looked at the T610 also but was more impressed with keyboard and
clamshell design of the Z600. The prices for both phones appeared pretty
comparative at the retail/Aust web shops I looked at, around ($650-$700).
As per some of the other replies I also found both phones for sale on ebay
much cheaper. However at the time I was looking all the cheapies I saw were
being sourced offshore (HongKong - Singapore etc.). I'm too impatient, I
wasn't waiting! Plus I think there were some suspect warranty clauses also
eg. one week warranty!
Cheers

The Z600 is a little chunkier although I do not feel it is unwieldy. The
payoff of the slighly larger phone is a larger keyboard etc (with my big
fingers, I find it easier writing SMS on the Z600)
Functionally, the two phones are quite similar. One physical difference
between them is the type of screen.
Cannot comment on prices, I am afraid.

Re: Phone comparison: T610 vs. Z600
Thanks to everyone for your very helpful answers. I'm going to go for the
Z600 through an Optus contract. It'll cost me around $399 for the phone,
over 24 months. The plan is $33 per month with an additional $16.45 per
month for the phone. That sounds just about ideal for me. The T610 would
have cost $329 on the same sort of plan.
I'm pretty happy with the whole thing. By the way, the lady from Optus I was
dealing with has been very helpful throughout the process, so well done
Optus!

DAMN!!! Those prices are awfull! Here in the Netherlands you get this phone
for free in combination with a 24 month contract while you pay 17 euro's
each month :-)

This is in Australia, remember, and we don't always get the best deals, or
latest stuff. There are still places here that want $800+ for these two
phones! I'll get $33 per month included calls as well.

Ok, my fault. These prices in Autralian dollars are a bit more gentle, but
still way higher than here. With the 17 euro (28 dollar) contract are also
90 minutes included. But what are we talking about, if we really want to
have fancy phones with the latest technologies for reasonable prices, we
should go to Japan ;-)
