    Hello.

I'm trying to download photos and sync with my T610. It's connected to an
XP machine and I have loaded the drivers and enabled the port (COM4). When
I load the sync program or picture download program, they do not see the
phone. Do I need to do something at the phone end first ?

    Regards

Verify that the cable connection is working by going into
HyperTerminal, select COM4 for the connection, and type in these
commands to see if it responds:
ATZ (probably nothing seems to happen here)
    ATI1
    ATI2
    ATI3

If nothing happens, you may want to adjust the COM port's speed, under
config. 9600 is a good number.

Why are you still using such unhandy thing as Hyper Terminal? Recently
I've found an interesting program - Flash Terminal. It is really Hyper
Terminal killer. With Flash Terminal you can chat and exchange files
via modem (including v.90, ISDN, ADSL, GPRS) and null-modem
simultaneously without Internet! You can exchange up to 255 files at
once with unlimited transfer resuming after connection break. Program
includes large amount of nice avatars.

Hyper-terminal is fine for checking your T610 (virtual) modem. 'nuff said.

    What are Software Patents for?
To protect the small enterprise from bigger companies.

    What do Software Patents do?
In its current form, they protect only companies with
    big legal departments as they:
a.) Patent everything no matter how general
b.) Sue everybody. Even if the patent can be argued
invalid, small companies can ill-afford the
typical $500k cost of a law-suit (not to mention
    years of harassment).

Don't let them take away your right to program
whatever you like. Make a stand on Software Patents
    before its too late.
