I just brought a p900 thinking it would be great.. but its
been very disappointing:-
1. Straight away you're needing to purchase a higher capacity MemoryStick
because you can't do much with the one that comes with it..
Can't download more than a couple of the applications.. Memory errors
even when there are 5 MB free...
2. The Car Rally game, the RemotePC etc software that comes with
it.. and features I thought I was getting are in fact all "demos" which
you need to spend more money to get the real thing.
3. Because of a competitive Teleco "war" I can't use the email
feature to check my email at the "other" telecos POP server.
(This is not a problem with the phone.. but again its something
Marketing don't warn you about when you purchase a phone
to check your email then find its not actually possible unless
you change your email accounts to a different company).
So the main reason why I purchased the phone.. I can't use it for.
As usual the "promise" or "Hype" is far more than the reality.

Depends on the application of the phone, not all users would need to get
bigger memory stick unless they use memory intensive applications such as
loading more programs on and loading music on to in large amounts..

This is Sony Ericssons fault how? these programs are developed by 3rd partys
for the symbian OS, thats like
buying a Computer and expecting them to give you all the software for free

I have no issue using my providers gprs to check any email account, set the
device to dial in to your dialup isp provider and use that to check email,
its not the devices fault your carrier dosnt support true internet access to
allow any pop3 to work.

I disagree, bit more like Microsoft bunging a good game with windows and
hyping it up showing pictures of the game in promotional shots only for you
to buy the OS and find you have to *buy* the game. Disappointing but still
warez is your friend.

Re: unhappy p900 user
I believe if you went to the SonyEricsson site and viewed the P900 it states
that the applications are indeed demos. It also clearly states the size of
the memory stick duo that comes with the phone. If the phone did not meet
you're specs why did you purchase it?

Re: unhappy p900 user
yes....I know I was griping.. **it is a great phone** and I'm going to
continue using it!!!!.. but that still doesn't mean I'm not a little
disappointed by some aspects
of it.. and I was just pointing out to other propsective purchasers
a couple of possible misunderstandings because I did research
the phone.. but it didn't occur to me I was going to have those
problems..
New Gripe..Last couple of days the software has crashed at least 3 times
while playing with it..... had to take out battery to restart. Screen just
goes
blank and can't do anything with it......

Or consider which additional programs that you may have installed yourself
may be causing a conflict
of some kind? Every now and then I format my phone and install my key apps
from scratch to make sure the phone is "clean" of any junk that may have
been left behind from various apps that I may have tried but not kept.
