Well, the GSM Association can eat my bandwidth then. I love my t610 for all
of its wonderous features, but no phone with sub-average reception should be
awarded "best phone."

That's ludicrous. A phone with that shoddy screen to be best... don't think
so, and any publication saying so would just make themselves look clueless.
It would be in the top 5 somewhere for sure, but best..

I like my T610 too... and it seemed perfect until I found myself wanting
more: better screen, better camera, speakerphone, more control over sounds
and alerts, better reception, ...
I may, however, be the best out there. I'm sure no phone is perfect.

:-) Good and very valid question. :-) I guess no phone can be everything
to everyone? I seriously like Nokia 6600 but it's not for everyone. I also
like P900 but that's REALLY not for everyone.
I think though that P800/900 was MORE revolutionary than T610. Of course it's
debatable if it's still a 'phone'. I think I'd cut the award up into a
phone-only category, which would likely be won by some Samsung clamshell job,
and then a smart-phone category for which I would choose P800 or 6600.
I actually like the P800 design a lot more than P900. P800 is stylish, P900
just geeky toyish.
Cheers,
Chanchao
