having been used to a T68i that last for ever, the P900 battery seems to
last about a day with little usage on a new phone. Is this normal or do I
    have a dud battery?

I get about 3 days of fairly extensive use, with gprs and Bluetooth running
24/7. Do you have any apps like tracker running on your phone? Apparently
that kind of thing can serious degrade battery life longevity.

Is Tracker really consuming that much battery power? My P900 should
arrive the next few days and I'm thinking about buying Tracker as well.
But if you only get one day when Tracker is running ...

    What are others' experiences?

    Suggestions :-

Get rid of animated screen savers - leave it blank or as the clock
(animation takes CPU, which takes battery)
    Turn off bluetooth
    Turn off infrared
Fully recharge the battery next time it goes flat (leave on charger for
    hours)

Of course, if you use the P900 as an MP3 player, your battery life is
    doomed anyway.

I get at least 3 days (sometimes up to 5 days, but I am a fairly light user)
with Tracker running constantly. It doesn't cause any problems for me
(that's the same for v3 and the new and improved v4).

Mine lasts between 3 and 4 days, depending on usage. And this is with
Tracker running. Make sure that neither IR nor Bluetooth are activated.
And turn *off* GPRS as well. If you really need GPRS, the phone
activates it itself, even if you turned it off (i.e. don't select
"automatic" but select "Only GSM"). Then I disabled CB completely, I
think this saves a bit as well.
