I just got a unlocked T237 from eBay. I put in my Cingular SIM card
and turned on the phone. The phone turned on ok, but after that it
does not respond to any key press. I thought the key was locked. I
pressed C + Yes to unlock the key, but nothing happened. I couldn't
even press the power key (No key) to turn the phone off. I even tried
    dialing 911, and nothing happened.

Am I missing something here or did I just get a bad phone?

Try again without a SIM card and with a fully charged battery. The phone
should power up normally and allow you to press 112 or 911 regardless of
phone lock. If the digits don't show up, the phone is defective.
