Well I've tried updating my firmware but after several frustrating hours,
including reading advice on the various newsgroups, I simply can't get SESU
to work. The problem is I appear to be unable to install the update drivers.
When I manually try to install the driver using the 'add hardware' wizard I
get the message there is not information on the hardware at this location.
Could someone advise me what I'm doing wrong. Alternatively is it possible
to take the phone to the Orange phone shop(or anywhere else) and getting
them to update it?
The reception in my area for Orange is poor and I'm trying to update to the
latest firmware on the hope it improves the reception.
Thanks for any help

According to SE support people in Sweden they're experiencing problems
with the update server right now.
We were adviced to wait and try again later.

Re: K750i firmware update
I (and others) have exactly the same problem. Doesn't matter how many times
and in what order I install drivers & software, I still can't get the damn
update software to update my phone. It always falls at the last hurdle, take
cable out, switch off, hold down C, put cable back in, blah blah blah!
As it's not that critical, I've given up for now.

Re: K750i firmware update
Thanks Rich, nice to know I'm not alone. I wouldn't be that fussed if it
wasn't for the reception improvement that supposed to exist in the latest
version. Why the hell don't they incorporate the update service and drivers
all in the PC Suite.
I was hoping someone knew of an alternative way of getting the update.

Re: K750i firmware update
Some in this NG have reportedly got the update working. I have followed all
the advise offered here and still nothing. I've also heard that the K750i
can be upgraded to the W800 software, but no-one has so far surrendered that
information.
Perhaps both are urban myths! ;-)

I, for one, have updated our K750s, totally four times with no problem. But
I haven't been able to, lately. As I wrote above, SE support claims that SE
is experiencing problems with their update server rght now.

Changing a K750 to a W800 can't be made with SE update service. There are
some cell phone hobbyists who offer services like that.
So, it can be done.

Re: K750i firmware update
Thanks for that. At least I know now that the update service has worked in
the past and hopefully will do in the future.
