I wonder if you can help me.

I have a Sony Ericsson V800 mobile phone. I had some MP3 files which I
wanted to use as ringtones, so I downloaded 'Sony Ericsson DRM Packager'
    to
convert the MP3 files to a file-type that my phone wanted (i.e. a file
    that
    had the extension .DM).

All has worked fine until a few days ago.
For some reason a few files no longer work. I went into My Items->Sounds
and scrolled down. When I got to the name of a file that wasn't working I
clicked 'more' and scrolled down to 'information' and I noticed that the
activation status was set to Not Activated.

I have not done anything to any of the files that are now not activated.

I deleted the files that are not activated from my phone. Then I converted
the MP3 files from .MP3 to .DM using the Sony Ericsson DRM software and
    put
them back on the phone but they are still not activated.

    Has anyone else experienced this?
Why have I got some files that are not activated while others are okay?

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?

I hope you can help me.

I appreciate any help or information given.

    Thanks

You might consider debranding your phone. The original SE-Software can
use MP3 as ringtone without any gambling.

    Vodafone software sucks.

    >Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?

As already said, debrand it. But consider this will void your
    warranty.

    Thanks for your reply.

Do you know how I go about debranding it?

Do you know of a website that tells me how to debrand it?

    Thanks!

Yes, but it's a bit harder to explain and requires some equipment like
a special cable, a piece of software and a credit. You might try
    looking for multiserver.

    >Do you know of a website that tells me how to debrand it?

Try looking at eBay to find someone close to you, who does it for some
bucks or who will sell you the cable/soft/credits and informations you
    need.

If you are in UK, try King Mobile Phone

They did mine, fast service no problems.
No connection to vendor, just a satisfied customer.

or you could use this guy 'click here' (http://tinyurl.com/743zt) way
cheaper and got the phone back withing a 1 day gap. not bad for £6 to
    unlock a w800i.
