Recovering data from a P910 backup

does anyone know how to recover data from a backup file of a P910 without
actually having a phone to restore onto?

thanks - I tried that. It will get me the contacts file but then I can't read
that. so I can't export the data into csv files, or outlook or anything.

As far as SE support are concerned its not possible :-(
