I'm pulling my hair out. I have now spent 2 days solid trying to sort this
out and have run out of ideas.
Firstly couldn't get install routine for SE software on disc to complete,
finally spotted info about removing Windows Hotfix Q328310 and finally got
it to install. Have paired phone with TDK PC card running 1.3.2.19, and can
create a serial connection on Comm 4.
Mobile Phone Monitor shows no phones
XTND Connect cannot connect to the phone
Tried IR but no luck either
Installed TDK Mobile 3.5. It can see the phone in its list but when I try to
connect to it either with Bluetooth or IR I get the error message
"error: Telefon Model-ID konnte nicht ermittelt werden" - I presume thats
what 'beta english' meant. Translates to Telephone model ID cannot be
determined.
I have a bootable clean version of the OS in a differnt partition, no sync
software for previous versions had ever been installed there. Tried all of
above there with same results.
Tried on another laptop - no different
Can anybody throw any light on this
My phone is
T610 with Vodafone customisations

did you enable com port 4 for sync? you need to do this at the windows
setting "phone monitor" set com 4 as "enabled"

Have a look in our Bluetooth Guides for some references on this.

Re: Can't Sync T610 - TDK Bluetooth - Windows XP SP1 - Outlook 2002
Thanks for replies,
I had set Com 4 as enabled and reserved in Phone Monitor. One of my problems
had been getting phone monitor to even see that I had a phone there at all,
fooled it with IR connection at same time.
Finally managed to get it to work this morning.
Opened My Bluetooth Places, right clicked on the icon for my paired T610.
Selected Properties, then the Authorize tab and ticked all the boxes. Then
as I had already been doing, initiated a serial connection to the phone and
ran XTNDConnect sync.
Very relieved.
I am now going to go and check out Mauricio's Bluetooth guide.
I have managed to set up a GPRS dial-up via IR but it doesn't work via
Bluetooth. Used SonyEricsson DUN Wizard.
Thanks for your time

Re: Can't Sync T610 - TDK Bluetooth - Windows XP SP1 - Outlook 2002
You need to go to control panel -> Phone Monitor Options and then select the
COM port for the Ericsson software to map to.
If you have the TDK BT then try just double clicking the synchronise
service. I have found this to be more reliable than the ericsson software.

Ok, so I followed these suggestions as well as the BT guides on
geekzone. Got synching to work. Once! Now it won't do it anymore.
Any ideas?

Re: Can't Sync T610 - TDK Bluetooth - Windows XP SP1 - Outlook 2002
I've noticed that the Serial connection will be re-established with last
device connected in that port. Have you connected to your T610, then to
another device (mobile, printer or whatever) and now is trying again the
T610?
If this is the case, you'll have to open Bluetooth Places, find the T610
icon, right-click and manually connect. When it connects ok, you can
right-click again and disconnect.
Then try syncing...

This is the heart of my problem also. I have established the serial port
link and XtndConnect will work for me after a re-boot. This suggests the
serial link remains unless the T610 and my PC are unpaired. But if I then
update my Outlook contacts, don't unpair, and try to run XtndConnect again
-- then XtndConnect doesn't recognise the phone. Yet my T610 is still
active in My Bluetooth places and I can still copy files. And I cannot turn
bluetooth off in the T610 -- when I try the phone says Bluetooth is
``busy''. This suggests the bug is something to do with reinitialisation or
the protocol that ends a synchronization. Any ideas? Regards Chris
Griffith.

for me it always helped to run the SE MMS Home Editor, wait 'till it
shows my phone (T610 and T68i) as connected and then close the MMS
Studio and start syncing.
So it alweays worked for me.
The SE Phone Monitor is imho the worst programmed piece of software
ever besides MS Windows 2.0 :-)
