1MB won't get you too far. It depends what you're doing really. The T610 has
the facility under 'calls' then 'costs' then 'data meter' or something like
that to see how much GPRS traffic you've used - so you might as well
experiment with both. Sometimes GPRS feels as dog slow as WAP anyway....

turn delivery report requests off
prefix each message *0# (asterisk zero hash)
sorry - there's no other way to do it

I ended up having to write to the Directors' home addresses.
www.fitlads.net/o2/ makes interesting reading if you're bored
(and before anyone suggests: "reply via same service centre", don't!)

And you will need it. Took me two telephone calls, three emails and two
weeks to get mine activated for MMS. Rang up the complaints line and they
did it within 15 minutes :-(

I'd go for the free WAP/free MMS. On your tariff, you can send picture
messages for free (but it eats up 4 of your 500 text each time). AFAIK
you can either have the ability to send/receive MMS or have GPRS. You
can't have both on O2 Online. I have no idea why.

When I worked in PAYG, we always said that O2 don't support delivery
reports but I read about that *0# on that consumerdeals.co.uk site.
Not sure if it works. Really strange tho - since O2 EIRE supports
delivery reports straight out of the box.

You can get that information from your o2 bill - log in and see the
unbilled usage bit. The system is 24 hours + whatever time it is
behind (i.e. at 12:30pm today, it was 24 hours + 12h 30mins behind)
but it's fine as a projection and even shows text messages. You could
also get that information from the 0906 guys, or the finance guys
(0870 220 3297), or the retentions guys (0870 225 9933) - but they'd
really be getting that information from the unbilled screen too.
Unbilled usage is actually something that's really improved since the
May 8th upgrade was fixed on 1st July.

General advice is to mail [email protected] inc. name, date of
birth, mobile no and address, asking them to do that. Do you want MMS
enabled? 077xxxxx990, aye?

oh I completely forgot that part. so I just order 02 online offpeak
tariff with the T610 so will they have it default for MMS or GPRS and
how do I get it change from one to the other if I need to in the
future?

I have the online 200 tariff and as far as i can see you can use both GPRS
and WAP plus MMS. I was a bit confused as the online stuff says you get
0.5MB but the paperwork i got says you can used either WAP or GPRS (2MB in
my example). I emailed the O2 guys and got a reply which matches what it
says online, 0.5MB and WAP. You get the 500 WAP and also 0.5MB GPRS. If you
think you have the choice you may end up having a bill as you don't actually
have the GPRS you think you do I would imagine!
If you log in, go to my account, view my bill and unbilled calls, go to
mobile summary, and select your mobile. (Nearly there, I don't know if there
are quicker ways to this!) click now on Inclusive allowance details and it
breaks down what you have left on your account (remember it takes 24 hours
to show up all). I know I have used GPRS to connect but it doesn't seem to
show up.
As for MMS, I seem to be able to send and receive them on my phone but they
rarely seem to turn up to other people's phones. Is this a problem with it
not being set up okay or just that MMS is tempremental? I better email o2
and wait for the 6 day wait again!

Re: t610 o2 online questions, please help
rang up o2 to sort out the mms and was told that they would sort it out and
it would take upto 5 days
my mate did the same he got a sim update so he actually has an mms account
on the phone and told he could use it in 3 days, they really need to sort
themselves out!
