Received a text message from Vodafone this morning saying that my SE charger
had a potential safety issue, that I should not use it and to call
08705237237.
Thought it might be spam so contacted Vodafone Connect who were typically
vague then 191 for Vodafone who had not heard about it. When I phoned 191
again 15 minutes later they had received confirmation from SE that this is a
valid text message.
Vodafone have told me that the faulty applies to the UK 3-pin chargers made
by Delta with reference 'BML 16 099/3 R1A' printed upon it. Currently having
trouble getting through to the phone number but I am assured by Vodafone
that this is genuine!

Ooh, just checked my charger and I have one of the faulty ones,
I bought my phone over ebay about 2 months ago now, is there anywhere I can
take it for a replacement?

Re: T610 -UK Charger Recall ** IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL **
I got the same message, but I haven't rang them yet. I have a T300 btw and
it's affected. What do they do? Do they send you a new charger?
Try ringing the number they gave me and see if they can help you: 0870
5237237
I don't know if it's a Vodafone number or a Sony Ericsson number.
Thanks

I got a text from Orange today warning me of the problem ( impressive as I
bought the phone on O2 and swapped sims!!! - they must of updated their
records when I rang their MMS support)
Rang Orange. Given the Sony number. Got through. They are sending me a new
charger by post with a return envelope for the old one
Excellent service so far

Re: T610 -UK Charger Recall ** IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL **
I'm on Vodafone, but I bought the phone from Orange and both networks texted
me - Vodafone on my new sim and Orange on the sim that came with the phone.
Which I thought was clever!
I rang Orange (although it cost me a £1 of credit!) and they are sending me
a new charger on Thursday.

There is a pop-up at http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/ clarifying the issue -
with an alarming typo!
It appears to apply only to a subset of chargers for UK phones/BT.

could someone please confirm, if this applies to german 2-pin-chargers
with the above batch number as well? For my new T610 came with one
made by Delta with that ref-code on it.

BTW: It's not time critical as I have a load of chargers due to my
amount of SE phones and accessoires. The new one's still in the
package. But I'd really be interested in that.

The SE site says that it is thought to be UK chargers only, and not all
of the ones with the same code and manufacturer, but if I were you I
would call SE in Germany and ask them.
