Ericsson a liability for Sony
I have just spent three hours getting my T39 to connect to my Laptop. There
is no excuse for installs to be this difficult in this day and age. It's
simply unacceptable. I have found most open source packages easier to
install in all seriousness.
I foresee Ericsson dragging Sony down with them into the abyss unless they
pull their idiots fingers out of their arses.
perhaps they could say hello to Digital, Compaq and gateway while they are
doen there..

Many people today live under democratic governments, and those who don't,
probably want to. Democracy is an answer to the question of how to create
leaders, while preventing them from abusing that power. It achieves this
by giving the population the power to regulate their government through
voting, yet the ability to vote does not necessarily mean that you live
in a democratic country. For a population to regulate their government
effectively it must know what their government is doing, they must be well
informed. It is a feedback loop, but this loop can be broken if the
government has the power to control the information the population has
access to... [freenet.sourceforge.net]

Took me less than 15 min to get my t616 working on my laptop. Install
the software, turn on the IR port and worked no problem.
You don't mention what types of problems you had.

I have a T39m, and find it to be a very nice phone with little in the
way of problems. I'm very happy with it. Actually, let me just remove
the e-mail client from my list of happy features; it's slow to scroll
through messages. Odd, given that the web browser, etc. is fast. But
other than that I'm happy. I sync it with my TiBook, I work with GPRS
a lot, etc.

FWIW, I've installed on three different computers, and none of them took more
than a few minutes.

Whereas I see Sony as the problem -- it's never seemed to understand cellular.
Ericsson on the other hand has very good cellular design and engineering. Its
weakness is in marketing, which Sony was supposed to address, but hasn't
seemed to do much good thus far.

Firstly, an explanation of your operating system would be nice!
I assume you are either using a bluetooth dongle or an embedded
bluetooth module. I have been working with a usb bluetooth dongle, and
it is a pleasure to install and use!
I got my T39 working under sucky win98 in under 10mins! I used it to
perform dial up networking for me while away on a trip.
The linux bluez stack is also awesome, stable, reliable and a pleasure
to use! I setup a lan via bluez in no time!
Ericsson make awesome products compared to the competitors! Robustness,
reliability and quality are what you should expect from Ericsson!
My previous phone was a noki.. rubbish phone, it broke 6 times within 2
years... my T39 and now my T68 are flawless! No repairs needed... which
really rocks my boat!
