Ericsson mobiles

I recently purchased a DC23 modem card, thinking it was compatible
with my old Ericsson A1018s mobile, but it seems it's for the older,
GH388. Should I look for this archaic model somewhere? I admit, I
rushed into buying the modem because it was in a clearance sale at
$49.99 - reduced from over $300 (Of course, that was a long time ago).
If anyone knows the whereabouts of a functioning, Ericsson GH388, I'd
happily swap.

The name of the modem for 1018 is "DC23v4", stating it's made for all
4 volt platform phones (6xx/7xx/8xx, A1xxx/2xxx, r2xx, T1x and
possibly others)

I don't know whether memory serves me right, but it could be that
DC23 allows only 2.400 bps as transmission speed, while DC23v4 is
9.600 baud.

If you do an ebay search, you might as well look for a DC23v4.
