My SE Z600 is due to arrive this week.
Basic question - how long should I charge the battery before I turn it on
to play?

Since it has a Lithium-based battery, you just charge it till it's
full. The capacity seems to increase the first 3-5 times you charge
it. It's normal. That's the way Lithium-batteries work.

Charged my Z600 two times now and I'm already getting more than 4 days of
standby-time with some 40 minutes of calls made/received. Pretty good imo.
