had one on contract with orange as a care upgrade lasted 2 weeks then
upgraded phone as year was up.
Gave to brother who uses orange payg sim, now he has started to get a lot of
signal problems e.g trying to call out and in mid dialing stops and reverts
back to normal screen ,very intermitent comes and goes tried to get a s\e
service centre to look at it but orange gave me a year old one so no free
repair, just wondered if there was any know fault.
Thanks

Well, as noted in my previous post, the T68i doesn't like to swim...
Until my unfortunate mishap, I'd been very happy with it. The only real
aggravation was that the menus were a bit on the slow side, and when you
selected somebody to call, there was a noticeable delay before it would
start dialing. But other than that a very nice phone.

My T68i was repaired under warranty for a dry joint / intermittent
connection on what the technician's report labelled 'filter', so I'm
guessing some sort of frequency trap arrangement on or near the antenna.
The symptoms were exactly as you describe, and could sometimes be
temporarily alleviated by squeezing the case near to the volume slider.
Obviously this was great for proving a point when watching the signal
meter, but less convenient when trying to make a call!

Re: any known faults with a t68i
I had similar problems with mine. Took it to a local service centre who said
they could find no fault. I asked to speak to the engineer and guess what,
the phone worked fine.
I took the phone home and didn't have the problem again for a couple of
months until recently.
As in Kevins reply I have also since found that squeezing together very hard
with finger and thumb between infra red cover and volume slider seems to
clear problem temporarily.
