Hi, I'm a college student and have a Motorola V551 on the national Cingular network.

    I know my phone is a quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900.
But is it capable of using analog towers?

I'm pretty sure analog & some digital are on the 800mhz frequency...but all I see on my phone is 850.

If anyone could answer, and either post here, or send it to my email address: mark_mace31[AT]hotmail.com it would be great.

    Thanks,

Sorry, no. The V551 is strictly GSM. It is not capable of using
    CDMA, TDMA or AMPS services.
