V710 problem

I have a Motorola V170 that keeps turning off by itself. The battery is
charged and seems to fit fine. Numerous times during the day I check
the phone and it is off. This has become a nuisance and is causing me
to miss calls, etc. Anyone have any advice to try to correct this or am
I going to have to send it in to be repaired? Thanks.

Clean the battery contacts with a pencil eraser.
