Never sign a Sprint contract. Sprint and their sales monkeys are the
scum of the earth. The bastards will tell you about their 14 day
money back program only for you days later to find out its only good
for the 30 buck phone. You will then be shocked to find a $300 bill
in the mail after you cancel. Their customer service will then lie to
you on the phone. They will pretend they don't have a 14 day program
until you flat out tell them about it. Then they will lie to you
again and tell you, you can't do it over the phone you have to drive
60 miles away to one of our service centers to cancel, which is not
true. All this for buying a phone at Costco and having it 2 days. I
never hated a company so much as Sprint. I wasted hours because of
Sprint and their scum sales force.
    **** YOU SPRINT.

contain only one sentence over and over; "Sprint SUCKS, I HATE

Well, I can understand your assessment of the poster, but he might still be
making a valid point--Is Sprint as bad as all that? If they are, it makes
the problems some of us have had with ATTWS seem insignificant by
    comparison.

Re: NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT WITH SPRINT

The reality is that he DOES have valid points, though his delivery is
lacking. I, too, had a similar experience with the company. I went to a
Sprint store and purchased one of their 1x pc card wireless modems and
service. I got the thing home, plugged it into both my PC and my iPaq, and
got it to work on neither. The next day I took it back to the store and got
a refund. I was told that they could not cancel my service in the store and
I would have to do so over the phone. Thinking how ridiculous it was that
they couldn't do this for me, I called SPCS customer service and cancelled
my service, at which time I was told that I would owe nothing, since I never
got the thing to work, and that it was within the 14 day return period.
Needless to say, I received a bill for $240 (150 early cancellation fee and
90 for the first month's service) I immediately called CS again, and was
told that it would all be credited to my account, not to send a check. Of
course, I received another bill a month later, with the 150 credited,
leaving a 90 charge for service AND A $12 LATE CHARGE! I called CS again,
who informed me that I owed all $102, and that they wouldn't credit anything
else to my account. Furthermore, they told me that it isn't their problem
that I couldn't get the equipment to work, and that if I didn't pay my bill
they would submit it to a collection agency. I spoke with a supervisor and
finally got them to waive the late charge. They are such big sports! I can
equivocally say that now that they are blackmailing me for $90 to keep my
credit rating clean, it is the last $90 Sprint or any subsidiary of theirs
will see from me in my lifetime. If this is an example of their CS, I can
see how they earned their stellar reputation.

He may indeed have valid points. My Sprint PCS experiences have been mostly
good, but I harbor no illusion that their Customer Service is anywhere near
perfect. The billing and CS problems people have had have been quite well-
documented. I like Sprint's network, which works quite well in the areas
where my wife uses her SPCS phone, and they are reasonably priced, but some
of their company policies are downright stupid.

I think they've gotten better, and all providers have their horror stories,
but I do believe Sprint has a ways to go before they are up to everyone else's
    level.

Perhaps they are (I don't happen to think so). However, I would not
make that conclusion from this particular messenger.

I have SprintPCS and AT&T Wireless... I can assure you that in my
experiences SprintPCS has been improving customer service while AT&T
Wireless has quickly been going down hill. AT&T's hold times are 30-60
mintues. SprintPCS customer service representatives seem empowered to help
and assist customers. With AT&T all I get is arrogance. Yesterday an AT&T
representative told me they have the most recognized and respected brand and
    that they can't be wrong.

Keep in mind that even though SPCS advertized 'one network...' this
'network' is actually made up of company owned and operated stores and
facilities, and many , many non- company owned and operated stores and
facilities. SPCS's GSA on the SPCS website makes it very clear that
the business rules followed by the company owned and operated stores
are not necessarly the rules followed by the non company owned and
operated stores. Lucky for me, I am in a SPCS coperate area, so I
have had no problems with returns, credits, and exchanges. SPCS has
even recoded my account when I had my cycle changed and they setup the
'new' account wrong. If my account had been in a corperate market,
SPCS would be more limited as to what they can do. Since SPCS has
setup this non-agent vs agent based relationship within its
organization, customer's quickly find out that all customer's are not
seen equally when it comes to SPCS.
