Let me try this one more time.

I've browsed this newsgroup, and been on a couple of web sites. Can anyone
tell me, in plain english, what I need in order to download wallpapers and
load them on my 730. I assume I need a cable in order to connect the phone
to my computer. Are all the wallpapers/ringtones that you can download from
Nextel's web site items that you have to pay for? Is there anything there
for free? How do I load my own pictures/wallpapers on to my phone?

Please don't refer me to a web site. Can someone PLEASE just use their
keyboard and explain to me how it works.
    Thank you.

While i look up the definition of lazy... lets try this one more time.

You were sent to a paid site as sell as a non pay site (something i rarely
    do)....
At the non paying site you could have downloaded the software (if you felt
    like reading)
At the non paying site... there are things for free
At the non paying site you it gives you what you need....

and people wonder why idencustom.com has to charge?

    Re: Wallpapers and Ringtones

You don't get what the expression "in plain English" means, do you???? Do
I need a cable of some kind, or do the wallpapers/ringtones magically appear
on my phone? Where can I get any additional hardware that I may need (if I
do need it)? If there is a cable involved, I assume one end of it hooks
into the phone. I am afraid to ask "in plain English" where the other end
goes. If no cabloe is required, then do the wallpapers/ringtones get
downloaded over the air? How does it work?

I was hoping that someone could kindly take 60-90 seconds and type out how
all this works. I really don't want to have to sift through hundreds of
messages from nerds on some obscure web site.

    Thank you.

    Re: Wallpapers and Ringtones

Recently I posted a question and received very helpful responses.
However, despite my own postive experience, I've noticed that questions
such as yours seem to generate unnecessarily hostile replies. Try asking
the same question on IdenInsider and you will likely be attacked
    unmercifully.

I am also new to Nextel, but as far as I can tell, you will need a cable
and a software package. The cables are available from Nextel and
Motorolla and come in USB and serial flavors. The software has names
such as webjal and ijal. From what I've seen, the software is more
problematic with the USB cable and the USB cable has some issues with
Win XP, so you might go for the serial cable. If you have a Mac, like
me, you are pretty much up a creek. Webjal costs $5. You can find out
about it at www.ideninsider.com or howardforums.com. However, do not
simply go there an ask a question unless you enjoy abuse. Use the search
system and read the "sticky" threads.

    Hope that helps.

I think it took me about a grand total of 30 minutes ob browsing on II
and HOFO, to find out what to do to get stuff on my i90 and i730, and
who to fix my old i90 cable for my i730. look a littel and you will
find myJal a free offline loader.
