Is there anybody with first hand experience that could tell me if there is a
NOKIA phone that has a speakerphone in the US as loud as the nextel phones?
I would switch to Nextel but the one sided conversations are somewhat
concerning...What Nextel has going for themselves for me is the loud
volume...
Thank to all for your help.

Not to mention how *damn* annoying they can be to those of us
that don't care to hear the conversation!

No NOKIA phone comes even close to the Nextel volume. That's becuase the
speaker in the Nextel phone is MUCH larger for the walkie-talkie portion of
the phone. Nokia and other handset manufactures use much smaller speakers
in their phones.

While I think the idea behind Nextel's walkie-talkie concept is great
on a construction site, in the privacy of your car or home, etc., it's
got to be one of *the* most annoying thing to witness in a public venue!
Used by *the* most inconsiderate people, that is.

Agreed, although no more annoying than a regular call on speaker. But
you're right- considerate people put their direct connect on private mode-
wish others could learn to do the same.

Well I think half the people that doe own Nextel still doe not know how to
use it and a quarter or them thats doe own them doe not really need the two
feature but likes to have to just say they have the feature. Well if we all
know how to use it then everything be fine hahaha.

Re: NEXTEL VS NOKIA
i will have to agree. many non-technical people dont understand that you can
put the DC to the earpiece as well as put a call to the speaker. a doe is a
female dear. do is a verb.
