There is a coverage map on the nextel site:
http://nextel.com/services/coverage/index.shtml
It doesn't have a lot of pretty colors on it, and you have to actually
dig into it, but it provides pretty detailed maps of their network coverage.

Re: Why is Nextel the only national carrier to not have a national
I appreciate the help... but I would need to know the zip codes of every
area I plan to travel to. And, well... I don't. I don't know if I'm a
below average consumer, but I'm not all that excited about having to
research 20+ zip codes so I can check whether or not Nextel provides
service there when it would appear that all the other carriers show
their coverage in the form of a national coverage map. It somewhat
limits the amount I can research them as a carrier in comparison to
their competition. For me, that was enough to dissuade me from looking
further into their service. I'd rather not have to do more work than I
need to.

I guess following directions fits under this too as the site says:

Re: Why is Nextel the only national carrier to not have a national
An admitted vealot-
Actually I dont care for the national maps that ATTWS and VZW have.
Nextel's maps are more accurate-
How tough is it to find the closest city and get a state or regional map.
