Hi all, I've heard that I can move my SIM from my i60 to my new (ain't here
yet) i730. I've heard that it will work....just won't have the 600 contact
capacity, .....and that some features may not be available. Nextel's site
says it won't work at all. The i730 manual SUGGESTS that it will
work....but that some advanced features won't.
Can anyone set me straight as to what WILL and WON'T work just moving the
i60 SIM card over.
Phone will be here tomorrow....and I just won't have time to get to the
Nextel store to have them move my contacts over before leaving town for a
few days......but I'll have it done eventually.
Thanks in advance for your help......Joe

Re: ? for the experts: SIM compatability, i60 to i730??
My i730 has been up and running with the SIM from my i95 for 2 months.
You are correct,...only 250 contacts, but everything that you are used
to with your i60 will be seen with the i730 and old SIM card installed.
Good luck,
Mike

Does it not screw up the javaability?? You can just put in the sim that
comes with the phone/buy a data cord and download the software from the iden
site to move the contacts over

Wait a minute- if you're simply switching phones, can't you upload the
contact info to 'My Nextel' on Nextel.com and then download it back to the
new phone with the new SIM?

It is highly recommended that you use the Falcon 64K SIM Card on Falcon
Phones in order to retain full functionality of the phones. Southern
LINC has some good advice regarding about Falcon Phones.

Re: ? for the experts: SIM compatability, i60 to i730??
The bottom line is that if you are in a pinch or would like to switch
back and forth between the i730 and a i90/i95 etc., use the old SIM card
and it will work fine.

Thanks all....the older SIM works fine, and everything else seems to work as
it should.
If I find out something else....I'll post.

Re: ? for the experts: SIM compatability, i60 to i730??
I went from I95 to the I730 and used the nextel.com address book
feature to download contacts to the new phone. It left out several
contacts for some reason and I had to update the new phone manually.
I can't figure out why this happened since I uploaded the I95's
contacts just prior to purchasing the new phone.
