Hi,
Today I bought a 6600. Got home, plugged it in, turned it on and started
having a look thru it. If I recieved a call it wouldn't show up the person's
name so I phoned Orange and they said they would send a sim update and I was
to delete it, turn phone off then back on so I did so and now it won't come
back on. I phoned back and the guy said I shouldn't of turned it off as it
hasn't had a 16hr charge which is what I thought in the first place. He said
to try it again inthe morning, if not it's knackered.
Does anyone know if the phone is now permenently damaged?
Any help appriciated!
Lisa.

what a load of crap..of course it's not permanently damaged...the people at
orange are just as useless as everywhere else.
you might try taking the battery out of the phone for a little while, then
trying to turn it on.
The phone is actually a bit like a car..it seems to need a lot of power to
"boot up"...so you need to wait for it to charge up for a few minutes before
you even attempt to switch it on.

I've tried taking the battery out for 5mins and putting it back in but that
didn't work. Just gonna leave it on charge all night now and se what happens
in the morning. It's been on charge now for about 9hrs and still wo't come
back on.

Have you tried holding the power button down for a few seconds (up to 5)
that sometimes does the trick!

No... just hold down for like ten seconds... my 5210 is very slow ...has to
charge the capacitors etc first b4 starting up....similar case with 6600
maybe? BTW what type of battery does the 6600 use?

Re: info on 6600 charging
tried all that! took it back to the shop today. they said a common prob with
6600 is that the wrong sims are in the boxes! they got a fault number for
the phone not turning back on so just replaced it there and then. they said
to leave it off while charging for 6hrs which i wasn't told yesterday.
