Hi. Does anybody know how many character SMS can a 6610 and 8310 send? My
old 8250 are only limited 160 character at any one time and I find that a
pain in my bad side. If the 6610/8310 can send a lot more character per sms
send, do the service provider charge more per message? Thanks.

    8310:160 chars
6610: Up to 3 concatenated SMS. ~460 chars. Charged per 160 characters or
    part thereof.
6610: MMS = 1000 character message. Charged differently to SMS.

By the way, find a better language translator.

Re: 6610 and 8310 SMS question

Hi. May I ask what's the differences between "concatenated SMS" and normal
    1000 character message.

And is the 6610 any good? Battery performance, reception in fringe area
    wise? Many thanks.

Concatenated SMS is basically a group of three SMS messages that contain
embedded joining links, sent in three seperate parts and joined up to make
one message on the recipient's phone if it supports. Otherwise they recieve
    three seperate messages.

The single 1000 character message is NOT an SMS, it is an MMS, which
requires provider activation, is priced differently, and usually uses a GPRS
connection to send, as it is basically an email.
