Good Day.
I have a Nokia 3586i. I am rather new to the cellular world and
am unsure what "unlocking" phone means. I know how to unlock it with
my security code, 4 digits, but I see reference to "unlocking phones"
that does not relate to the personal security code. I am with
Bell Mobility here in Ontario Canada. Thanks for your time. Harv.

The references you see are to GSM phones. Those sold by cellular carriers
are rigged to that they cannot be used with other carriers; disabling this
feature is called "unlocking". An unlocked GSM phone can be used on any
compatible cellular carrier simply by inseting an active SIM card into the
phone.
The 358x phones are CDMA and do not work anything like this.
