Hi, Having Problems with playing songs through the music player which
are on the MMC card, can't seem to find anywhere to add the songs to the
playlist. I can browse to the song in the gallery and play it from
there. I can also play songs which are on the phone in the special
folder for mp3's.
In the user manual it says:-
Music files stored in the Music Player folder will automatically be
detected and added to the playlist. Music Files stored in another place,
in a folder of the media card for example, need to be defined in the
playlist before you can listen to them.
My question is how the hell do I do that? There are no further
instructions in the manual.

Re: Playin MP3 from MMC on 6230
Hi,
I am having the exact same problem and I have been battling the issue for
hours now.
I am sure it is a bug in the phone software since the manual and the user
interface of the "Nokia audio manager" tells us it can be done. I noticed
there is a button in the "Nokia audio manager" which has a hint that says
"Add track to the playlist of the phone" but it is gray and no selection I
have been making today was able to enable that button...
The problem is actually pretty annoying since we are forced to have all
music in the root folder of the MMC card to be able to play it... what a
mess..
Best regards

Hi StarGate,
Do you have music i subfolders on the MMC card? And does the phone see those
tracks in your subfolders?

Re: Playin MP3 from MMC on 6230
Hi there,
I would like ot thank StarGate, for he gave me new insight in this
problem. What I did was this; I used to have a map holding mp3's, but
I had to put the songs directly in the MMC, without submapping it
(just mp3's straight into the map by bluetooth) and then I did what he
did (startup the music player and then refresh all tracks in the
options menu). I hope it's clear to you now, because this was a
problem which must have truely disappointed you too. Now it works
great! Accept for the damn nokio suite of course which doesn't see my
bluetooth in a couple of it's programs....
Cheers,

Can I give you a suggestion?
For the programs in nokia pc suite that do not connect, have you tried to
connect first with the Connection Manager (the small icon that appears in
the tray bar), and then start the programs?

Hmm, tried that and it still doesn't work on my 6230. It can play mp3s from the mmc root and from the "Music
files" but nothing else it seems. Doing a tracklist refresh as suggested made no difference at all. I have to play
other MP3 files on the MMC via browsing the gallery (media player).
I'm running s/w version 03.14, what are you folks using ?

I found that before I could connect using the Connection Manager, I
had to click on the 'Nokia PC Suite' icon (visible in the Bluetooth
browser window of my Widcomm software after you've paired it) which is
one of the services that the phone offers over bluetooth. Note, this
is NOT the icon for the Nokia PC Suite which is installed on your
desktop and runs the client software on the PC.
I then got a message saying the phone was set up to connect using
the COM5 virtual serial port - which I use whenever I run the
Connection Manager.
I only had to do this once ... ever since then the phone connects up
using the Connection Manager.
A bug to note - if you are going to turn off the Bluetooth on the
phone, make sure you have disconnected it from the 'Connection
Manager' first. In my case, if I haven't then it locks the phone
every time, requiring the battery to be removed to reset it.
