    I then received this message

    So I decided to click copy the URL and safely access it on my PC and got the

    File name poly.php
    From new.monstermob.com

    I saved the file to my PC and converted it to a txt file and got the
    following details;

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN"
    "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml">

    <do type="prev" label="Back"><prev /></do>
    </template>

    <!-- Main Card With Click throughs to get.php or the tc's card -->

    <card id="click" title="Ringtones">

    <img alt="loading" src="images/poly_sub/strap.gif"/>
    <br/>
    <a href="getpoly.php?n=NDQ30DEwNjQ2Mjc5">Get Now!</a>
    <br/>
    <a href="#info">Cost Info</a>
    </p>
    </card>
    <card id="info" title="Cost Info">
    <p align="center"> This is a polyphonic subscription service which allows
    you
    to download two polyphonics from a selection of ten per month. Following
    tones
    charged at only &#163;4.50 per month. Log off at any time by sending
    CHPOLY STOP
    to 87575 </p>
    </card></wml>

    So is this a scam or just a higly overpriced polyphonic tones service?

    Actually if you look at the prices some ppl are charging for a few bleeps,
    it's very competetive. Still deceptive and highly intrusive marketting tho,
    so I'd class it as a scam nonetheless.

    I'm not so sure. If it's not pretending to be other than what it is,
    there's no misrepresentation involved, so it's no more a scam than,
    say, trying to get people to pay £8 a month for top-up tv when all
    they show appears to be the sort of old rubbish people get set top
    boxes to escape from in the first place.

    Isn't "spim" the word for this sort of thing? Or is there a sp*
    specifically for sms spam?
