n6600 and syncing with e-mails in MS Outlook

Hello,

I am trying to synchronise my 6600 with MS outlook. Calendar and tasks goes
well, but what about e-mails? I have two e-mail accounts that I download to
MS Outlook. One is POP3 and one is IMAP4 (I download then only headers).

To my old Palm I was able to dowload both inboxes nicely separated.

Is this possible to my n6600 or do I have to read the e-mails directly from
the GSM network provider? (will be costly).

My understanding is that the 6600 only supports one email address. I have
several, and they all attract levels of spam that are unacceptable on a
phone, particularly when you're incurring overseas GPRS charges.

So what I do is to forward all my email accounts to a spam blocker, in my
case www.mailblocks.com, and load only that account, which is IMAP4, on to
my 6600. So the only headers I see on my phone are those that have been
"filtered". No spam comes near the phone.

For me, this solution works fine and makes reading mail on a phone a
practical proposition once more.

Thank you so far, but does that mean that I will not be able to synchronise
directly with the inbox in MS Outlook on my own PC via bluetooth or
infrared? Do I have to connect to a service provider over GPRS even when I
am sitting in my own office?

After all I am able to synchronise the calendar and (almost) sync the
contacts in Outlook with my n6600.

That's right. But IMHO the value of the phone is to have the mail headers
synced wherever you are, not just during a desktop syncing session. If you
set the Mail GPRS settings to "whenever available", it just dives in to your
mail provider and grabs the headers every few minutes. The qty of data
transferred, and thus the cost, is minimal.
