New firmware for Nokia 6600 ?

Hi all,

I just got a new Nokia 6600 from Vodaphone today. My previous one had
4.0.9 on it, but it had some problems with the screen, so I had it
swapped out.

The new unit has 3.42.1 by default.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can take the phone in London to get it
upgraded ? Nearer to the center of the city, the better for me. Also,
does anyone know if there is a cost involved in newer firmware ?

Not normally a charge.

Regents Street I think there is a level 3 Nokia agent, who should be able to
do it while you wait.

Failing that, try Fleet Communications (New Eltham), or call Nokia (01480
434343) option 2, option 1. They should be able to tell you where your
nearest level 3 is.

NB

I actually called into a Voda store this evening, and they are ONLY using
3.421 at the moment. They do not have 4.091, as this has not been authorized
(apparently) by Vodafone yet.

Thanks for that...

I called Nokia today and got the number for Excel Phone Palace in
Harbour Exchange Square, which was handy as I was going out there
today anyway... I dropped the phone off and collected it 3 hours
later, only to find that it still has 3.42.1 on it. They told me that
they have not been sent anything newer by Nokia yet.

Is this normal ? I would have thought that you'd be able to get it
anywhere or nowhere

Has anyone got 4.0.9 as an upgrade in London from a Nokia service
center ?
