Hi.
Can somebody help me please, with a display indicator on my (new)
6820, for which I can find no information (not even Nokia's own UK
helpline could give me the correct answer!)
The indicator/symbol is a capital letter "B" with a slash - "/" -
through it. The symbol appears at the top-left of the display,
directly above the signal-strength meter, but will move across the
display if other symbols are activated. My guess is that it means some
function is not available?
It appears at random intervals, though mostly during the
afternoon/early evening! I have also found that, even with full
signal, callers go straight to my answerphone, though I don't believe
this is directly related to this "B" symbol appearing.
I am with Orange (UK) and wonder if the symbol might just be related
somehow, to the Blackberry mail system? Nokia's (UK) helpline seem to
think the symbol is related to Bluetooth, where the phone is
"searching" for my Jabra headset. If I activate Bluetooth, and link
with the headset, the "(((.)))" symbol appears, but the "B" remains!
The only way to clear the "B" is to switch off the phone, then switch
it back on again a couple of seconds later. Any ideas please? I would
like to get to the bottom of this!
Many thanks.....

I have a 6820 too and have never seen that symbol. I am in the USA on AT&T WS
with it so it might be carrier dependent.
I also looked in the book and it does not show a "B" symbol among thos
indicated.

John, in your follow-up, you wrote:-

On further investigation, it seems the Blackberry email service was
"active" through the UK carrier "O2", which I do not have an account
with. I have managed (I think) to completely disable the Blackberry
functions on the phone and, so far, the "B" symbol has not appeared
since.
Perhaps the phone/Blackberry service was trying to make a link and
just gave up with the "B/" symbol telling me the service is/was not
available??
I don't know if this was indeed the cause, but I'll keep an eye on the
display.
