Is it possible to turn off this CRAP feature?
I don't want a copy of every message I send to clog up my phone.

    TIA

That used to be on one of my Nokias then got removed. I think it was on
    5110/7110 then removed for 6210/6310i.

Anyway, there was a way around it, if I recall, you could hit the red key
after sending the message to go straight to the main page, rather than
exiting through the menu. Dunno if it'll still work (or even if it did
work - was probably 3 years ago)

Damn useful feature IMHO. When someone claims the message you sent them
didn't get there or you didn't send it, you can prove you did..!

    Thats not very good proof.

I can compose any message and save it in the outbox, without even
    contemplating sending it to anybody.

Surely a delivery report is the most effective way for you to know they got
    it.

    Maybe you should RTFM.

That doesn't turn on/off the saving of Sent Messages. It controls whether
the phone automatically deletes old messages to make room for new ones when
    the memory has filled up.

You can however delete all messages in the SaveItems in a single swoop:
    Messages>Text Messages>Delete Messages>Sent Items

    Cheers,

As your inbox fills up the oldest sent items get deleted. You cant turn it
off. It is handy, esp if you dont get delivery reports (i dont on o2 without
wasting mytime and typing in *0# b4 a text) its good for those 'did i send
taht text' moments and is also good when you wake up in the morning after a
night out and see what drunken texts youve tried to send

You shouldn't have to delete them.
Should be an option to turn this feature OFF.
or not on the phone at all.
    Is it useful? NO!
Nokia could have saved the memory for a useful feature.

    Thanks ppls.

You dont. The phone will delete them automatically when it needs to if you
    set it up that way.

Turn on overwrite in sent items.

    Yes it is.

That's your opinion. It's not mine.

So the feature was at least 50% worth it.

    For ****s sake pay attention.

away - AS THEYRE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED!

No, not at all. I'm not sure why you you thought that. I'm more than used to
seeing rudeness in lots of groups - I just don't have to like it and
    sometimes I say so.

I still think a bit of manners wins more self-respect than swearing, I doubt
    we'll agree on this.

    Anyway,
