    Here's something for you guys to think over??
    Maybe you have had a similar problem?
    Maybe you too feel that Nokia are a little "hopeless!"

    Bought Jabra BT200 headset ("works with 6310i, 3650, 6600")

    Worked fine with Nokia 6310i. Used the headset/earpiece (bluetooth) all day
    long, and only needed charging after a good days use (on from 08:00 - 21:00,
    and made and received many calls. No problem.

    Bought a 3650. Jabra BT200 use as above. Again no problems

    Bought Nokia 6600. In use with the Jabra, I found that I was getting
    talktime of about 15 mins MAXIMUM, and used from 08:00, and BT200 needed
    re-charging at about midday.

    Not happy with the reduced talktime, compared to that of 3650 and 6310i, I
    contacted Jabra. They mailed me a press release, stating that the problem
    lies with Nokia, and the fact that the 6600 does NOT go into "sniff mode"
    whn used with the Jabra.

    When I initialy contacted Nokia, they informed me that this is "a known
    problem, with ALL bluetooth headsets, when used with the 6600". They claimed
    that the little Finish engineers (R&D) were working on a s/w patch, to cure
    the problem.

    Time passed. I called Nokia (01480 434343) a number of times, and was given
    mixed information from the customer "service!!??" operator.

    In the end, they claimed there is NOT a problem with the 6600, and they
    "cannot comment on third party accessories" (the easy get out for them)?

    Recently bought a 6230. Use with the Jabra BT200, gives me all day with the
    earpiece switched on, and NOT requireing a charge til late in the evening.

    Talk time?? Over an hour and half (same as that with the 3650, and 6310i),
    and STILL the BT200 does not need charging.

    In conclusion....

    Jabra appear to be correct, with their OFFICIAL STATEMENT that the problem
    DOES lie with the 6600.

    Nokia use the "easy get out" claiming that they do not support, nor can
    comment on third party accessories.

    Proof?

    6310i All day use, and plenty of talktime
    3650 All day use, and plenty of talk time
    6600 About 4 hours before the Jabra needs charging (indicative that the 6600
    does NOT go into "sniff mode" as stated by Jabra)
    6600 about 10-15 mins MAX talktime, before Jabra requires charging.

    Anyone from Nokia reading this?
    Anyone wish to comment?
    Anyone had the same problem?
    Nokia customer "service!?" - Where?? :-(

    Right, I've had my moan, perhaps someone can "back me up" on this, or
    disagree with my findings?

    Yup, got rid of my 6600 for that reason, been discussed many times, search
    the symbian forums, plenty of workarounds and tweaks to try before giving
    up.

    Hey dude how long have you had the headset for ? sounds like 2 years....

    guess what? all batteries die after 2 years including rechargable
    ones...(they dont die their charge gets shorter)

    so stop blaming the 6600 for an overused rechargeable battery...

    now go and hassle Jabra and ask them how much for a replacement battery...

    Err.....no! This is a well known problem with certain Nokia handsets, and
    is not Jabra's fault.

    :-)

    You obviously got as bored reading my mail, as I did writing it!!

    The "giveaway" words are something like "it works fine with the 3650, 6310i,
    and 6230", followed by "with the 6600 I only get about 15 minutes
    talktime"!! :-)

    I have had the Jabra for about 6 - 7 months I guess. Certainly NO LONGER
    than that!

    Jabra STATE THAT IT IS A NOKIA ISSUE (their press release). This becomes
    proven when the Jabra is used with the 6310i, 3650, and (latest) 6230.

    Thanks for your feedback anyway.

    PS I'm not knocking the 6600, it's a great phone, and fully bundled, but a
    bit of a let down when used with the BT earset/earpiece/handsfree

    Thanks for that "backup" "Richard"

    That's the only thing that spoils the use of the phone, with BT. Having to
    charge the unit once-twice a day.

    As in my original mail, works fine with 6310i, 3650, and my latest the 6230.
    In fact used all day with 6230, with about 2 - 3 hours total (accumulated)
    talktime, and STILL able to use without it screaming out for a charge.
