Here is the situation. I unlocked my 3595 Nokia (Cincinnati Bell
Wireless/AT&T) and purchased a prepaid T-Mo card - works fine for calls.
However, the T-Zones did not work. So I called T-MO CS and was told to hold
the 0 key down - and even though the phone was locked I should be able to
get T-Zones to work. It didn't - so I went thru all my saved posts and I
changed the GPRS settings to what I found on the internet - i.e. homepage =
wap.voicestream.com IP address 216.155.165.050 etc. I then held the 0 down
and now get a message that your plan does not support this feature. So I
called T-MO back and a different rep said even though my 3595 was unlocked
the only way T-Zones will work is to get a T-Mo phone. I asked him if I had
to do something like flashing or flexing (don't know what that is should
have paid more attention) but he said the only way T-Zones would work is on
a T-Mo phone. He assured me he knew what he was talking about and there was
no way I could use my unlocked 3595 with the prepaid T-MO that has
freeT-Zones. Would someone confirm this before I start looking for
solutions. I will gladly google but if anyone has a quick answer I would be
grateful. Not exactly sure what I need to do as the phone is unlocked and
    works fine otherwise. Thanks! DonnaB

Re: Nokia 3595 and prepaid T-Mo card

    Hello Donna,
First thing I would do is go to the TMOBILE Configurator and have it send
the WAP and MMS Configurations to your phone This is located at
    https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clie...S/ota_support/
Because the NOKIA 3595 was also sold by TMO as long as the BROWSER SETUP is
unlocked, then you should be able to access the TMO TZONES. Keep in mind,
that just because the phone is SIM/SUBSIDY Unlocked, doesnt mean the WAP
browser is unlocked. This is a common issue that pops up.

You also need to have the TMO TZONES HOMEPAGE set to wap.myvoicestream.com
(Note the MY in voicestream) The GPRS APN is wap.voicestream.com
All of this will be setup if you use the configurator. BUT if the Browser
setup has either been disabled or locked to the existing carrier, then yes
GAME OVER unless you have the complete FIRMWARE flashed. (Not as easy as
Motorola which you hear people FLEXING/FLASHING all day long

Also, keep in mind that the TZONES on TMO2GO is not the same as on PostPaid.
It is relatively of no use but to check your acct (you can do that with
sending #999# Send without TZONES) and going to 3 News Web Sites, CNN, ESPN
and ABC. Besides that its all about TMOBILE selling you ringtones and
wallpaper. The days of FREE WAP Access that you may have read about are
gone.It is COMPLETELY blocked off (Yes there is some who seem to have
escaped it, very few and far between users) Point is, to spend alotta time
and/or money to get the TMO TZONES will end up with you sadly dissapointed.

PDA MAN - You are a genius! I followed above instructions and now it works
(after the T-MO tech guy and 3 reps said it wouldn't). Thank you very, very
much! But I do see what you are talking about - the T-Zones are definitely
not the same as the $4.99 plan (much to my chagrin). Thanks again! DonnaB

Likely the phone you got originally from ATTWS while it may be SIM
unlocked the data settings are no doubt firmware installed and the
only way to be able to use T-Mobile data settings is to have the phone
flashed with generic non-AT&T/Cinci Bell firmware. Otherwise you'll
not likely be able to use the data functions of that phone.
