Wouldn't be a bad thing, I have used this flop for work and was
disgusted with it!

Except for the size, what's so bad about it? In 8 months I have to
renew my contract and I'm not sure if I'd go for a 6230 or try a
Symbian phone.

The 6600 is like a Swiss Army Knife. If you only need a knife, than it is
too big :-)
The 6630 is a (better) successor of the 6600, but in this moment a lot of
software (there is all kind of software for the 6600) is not yet compatible
for it. In 8 month I guess this problem is solved too.

Re: Nokia 6600 - discontinued?
Johan,
My 6600 is fantastic.
I have soooo much software for it.
A 512Mb MMC card inside full of applications, MP3's and games.
It never locks up or has any problems, it's truly faultless (for me).
Yes, it's bigger than most phones but the screen is fantastic and the
applications and versatility outweigh this.

The size is not the slightest of concern to me. My biggest gripe was
the lack of a pop-port in this type of phone. Also the lack of an
automatic key lock as standard, the e-mail sending faults.
The list does go on and these faults have been mentioned en-mass on
newsgroups.

Oh, well, on my 6610i I only use the pop-port for the radio antenna.
All communication with the PC is done with IR (I don't want to buy
a new expensice cable with each phone) and I don't use a carkit.

I switched that off on my 6610i, so I won't miss it.

What faults? Is the email application buggy?

I like the idea of having one device that does *everything*. I'm waiting
for one to arrive tomorrow and can't wait. It will be the business phone
though (personal is different, simple, more compact phone) but that's
all I need during the day. TomTom Mobile + speed camera database is the
thing I look forward to the most - I just hate the idea of having a
phone, PDA + crap everywhere with me.
