how to block certain calls or messages

I'm writing this because I own a nokia 3100 and I was wondering if using
some code or perhaps a java app it was possible to block certain incoming
calls and messages meaning the phone would ignore certain calls coming from
specific numbers and automatically delete messages from those numbers. For
practical reasns, changing my number would be the option if nothing else
works. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

If the phone has a caller group function, place the people you want to hear
from in a particular group, and then untick the boxes of the groups you
don't want calls from.

Unfortunately it will still let unknown numbers through, unless you set the
standard ringtone to a quiet, or silent one and then set the wanted calls
group to a noisy one.
