Nokia 6680 problems

I have a Nokia 6680 from 3 Australia with Firmware V2.04.15 04-03-5 RM-36.

Not long after I got it I started getting problems with saving files and
photos to the MMC card. Then a couple of days ago it could not connect
to the network. I have to take the phone back next week.

Has anyone else had problems with this version of firmware?

Upgrade the phone to the latest firmware-version: 3.04.37

The supplied MMC-card may be faulty; this issue is known by Nokia!

Nokia 6680 -> v3.04.37 (01-06-05)

Well I am really PISSED OFF with the Nokia Care Centre now, I went back
the second time today which is over an hours drive each way and they
replaced the main board this time and it STILL has firmware V2.04.15 and
it STILL has the same fault!

It still won't roam to 2.5G when out of the 3G service area.

I have emailed Nokia requesting them to contact me before I make a third
trip down to the Nokia Care Centre and create a scene.

I have finally resolved the problem. I spoke to Nokia this morning and
they gave me a reference number which I think put a rocket up the Nokia
Care Centre. When I arrived they were very polite and they had the
phone fixed very quick with V 3.04.37 01-06-06 RM-36 installed as
requested this time.

I also spoke to my provider 3 Aus and they said that my SIM card was old
(about 3 months old) and should be replaced. As they have recently
switched Roaming providers from Vodafone to Telstra, funny they had
already made that switch when I signed up so I suspect they had been
fiddling with the network which contributed to the problems!

Anyway I went to a 3 Shop on the way home today and had the SIM replaced
and the phone is behaving as it should now.

So if you need to have your phone serviced at a Nokia Care Centre do
your homework before you go and find out the latest firmware revision
and insist they actually upgrade to that and don't let the mongrels fob
you off.
