My 6600 stopped vibrating. I tried backing up, reformatting,
and restoring memory, but to no avail.

Vibration stopped working simultaneously with the display
light switching state (off when it should be on, on when
it should be off). Rebooting solved that problem.

Is this just a burned out vibrator motor or have Symbian's
    windows-like quirks surfaced?

Thanks in advance for any clues or guesses.

    Cheers,

    Richard

Problem solved. Vibration spontaneously began working again.
    I suspect a software error.

Happens to my 6600 too - if that's any help. Reboot usually fixes the
    problem.

Funny, though, my first reboot didn't fix it, but the second one did.

It happens that some balls of dust get caught between the spnining vibrator
    head and the frame.
