I decided to connect my phone and PC mainly to be able to download pictures
from the phone to the PC. I've learned a lot since I made that fateful
decision.
Big question, how do you know that you've got a Nokia Cable/Irda? I've got
both and neither are found by the PC. The Cable is labeled a DKU-5 and
apparently made by "USB World Technology Inc. ". It came with Drivers and
Nokia PC Suite S/W. The Irda is a "Moble Action" device and it came with
nothing (no Drivers/SW). It's sold as a MA-660 device but the drivers found
at the Mobile Action Website fail to connect the device to my PC.
Can either of these devices be made to work? I suspect some of the problem
is I currently working on an older laptop running W98SE. But I will soon be
home with a new desktop running XP. My phone is a Nokia 6102 and the Nokia
Website says their S/W only works with XP for this phone but I don't
understand why the Cable/Irda won't at least connect to the PC?
The compatibility issues make me think it's about not worth it to continue
with this mess!

I also bought a non Nokia ca 42 cable. Using their PC suite and cable
drivers I got it to work one time only. Then no connection.
If you find a solution please post.
