Downloading games through the net on 6100

Hi,

I just bought a new nokia 6100, I don't have a data cable for it yet.
There are no games on it so I decided to have a look on the net. I
found the JAR and JAD file for Snake II. Since you can download
software through the net I decided to have a go with it with WAP.

I uploaded the files to some webspace:
http://fontys.take13.net/snake.jad

When I surf to this location the only thing I get is a message on the
phone saying "Unknown file format".

It is possible to download software to your phone, I've done it. Why
isn't it possible to download this?

The problem you are having is you need to set the correct mime type for the
server , ie the server does not know what the file is that you are trying to
send to your phone .

Hi,

Tnx for the help but I already solved it

The thing is that I tried to download it first without setting the
mimetype, so the file got cached.

Afterwards I though of setting the mimetype which is:
application/java-archive

After setting the mimetype I tried again and didn't work because the
file was stilled cached, that's when I turned to this group for help.

While playing with the phone waiting on an answer I decided to clear
the cache and try again and it worked.

Maybe you could put that on your webpage, people shoudl clear their
cache before trying
