I have always wanted one of these and the other day i was given the chance
to buy one! Its a little bit 'used', but is in good working order! I just
wondered what everyone thought of it, seeing as it is a very well know
    phone.

Great phone I think, still have one and used it when my 7650 packed up. I
have heard of a few that turn themselves off after a while though so be
    careful.

Great phone, really. One of the better ones I've used.

A little slow in the SMS listing, and doesn't do GPRS (which I'm totally
    addicted to now..)

A splendid phone. You will love the navi roller & big display.
    Things to do.
    1. Open the case up & clean out all the fluff, you will need a T6 torx
    driver.
    2. Re-flash (or get someone else to do it) to 5.01 - VITAL!
    3. Apply some double sided tape to the very top of the battery, as there
is usually some wear there & that can cause the switch-offs.
    4. Open the slider & turn the phone over. Look at the borrom of the
slider. There are 2 lugs there that engage contacts in the phone. check if
these are worn. If so, just fold a bit of tape over each of them.
    5. While the phone is open & turned over, check the microphone tracks on
the inside of the slider. These can be repaired my cleaning, & applying
(Carefully!) a thin layer of solder.
    6. Cut a bit of card the same shape as a SIM card & put it between the
    SIM & the battery.

All these help with a worn 7110.

Buying a replacement housing will fix almost all of these AND make the phone
    look nice!

Buy Logomanager (NOT! Oxygen!- They cut off support including changing you
phone after 1 year) & a datacable for ringtones & Logos

Download Fonesync from Nokia to sync to a PIM (see link below)

Enjoy this great phone - why nokia went to the 6210/6310 I will never know!

I had 4 in a week once - nasty lite things!! First one worked fone for
months, then it died - the next one wouldn't shut the dlifer.. and a
whole other catalugie of errors!! Both I and my step-son had one each
and we went through 8 of them between us in a year!

Love my 6310i though ! just wish it would GPRS and allow incoming vox
call like my T39 used to.. :-(

It does..! Well mine does anyway. GPRS data transfer is put on hold until
the voice call ends. Can't figure out how to *make* a call while in the
middle of a WAP session though..!

oh and btw if the battery is loose, tape the part right below the release
button to the main chassis with non-marking tape; i fixed one 5110 with
turning off probs with this method
