I'm having a strange problem. I've installed the drivers for the DKU-5 data
cable and the PC suite on my desktop machine running win98SE, and it just
won't find the phone. The phone appears in the conection manager (withou the
phone icon beside it) and when I click apply the small phone icon appears
for about 1/10th of a second before disappearing again.
I've sucessfully installed the cable and software on my laption running XP
but I would really like to use my desktop instead.
Any help?

Not sure I can help much, but am interested in any other responses. I
have had similar problems on 98SE where some of the PC Suite functions
work (address book, SMS) but the ones I really want - uploading games,
pics, tones - just refuse to connect. The vendor I bought the cable
from advised that reinstalling the software should fix it, but after
about a dozen attempts, still have the same problem. I tried the demo
versions of LogoManager's Mobile Media Browser and also Oxygen Phone
Manager and both seem to have no problems connecting to the phone. Of
course they don't let you upload unless you buy it.
After much frustration and swearing I am reaching the conclusion that
PC Suite is not worth the effort anyway as the other 2 seem much more
intuitive and Oxygen, at least, has much more functionality than PC
Suite, but considerably more expensive than LogoManager. While I am
loathe to throw more money at this I will probably fork out for LM as
it lets me do the things that I can't seem to get PC Suite to do.
Oxygen looks nice but can't really justify the expense.

Re: 6610 and DKU-5
I had the exact same thing, just with my 6100.
I wrote a response on how I got it to work, please read my response to:
"6100 USB data cable problems", above.
Hope it helps.
