Hi folks.
I just bought a 6310i and now bought a USB-Bluetooth dongle.
The phone is only software 4.8 if that is any "problem", and I am
running W98se.
The "dongle" (USB - bluetooth gadget) is made by AON / racewood.
Running their little program, I get to see my phone, I select the
"trust" thing, enter the code on both devices (though I don't
understand why I am disconnected from my PC so quickly) and then it
reutrns to the screen as before.
I then try to run PC-Suite and it says the phone is not connected.
What am I missing? Anything?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, now and then I get an error telling me that a program has failed.
I shall have to try and get more details of the name and the details,
but it is all too confusing for me.
I was hoping it would all just work.
Thanks in advance.

You should reflash your phone to 5.50 to work with PC Suite via Bluetooth.

I had exactly the same problem with firmware 5.1. My N6310i didn't want to
work with any device except BT handsfree in my car. Then I visited Nokia
authorised service center and raised my voice to "certain" level. After that
phone was upgraded (free of charge) to fw 5.5 and it's working with
everything - my BT handsfree (Elsa Vianect), with USB dongle (SDS), with my
iPAQ 3970 and with my wife's SonyEricsson T610.
So, of you go, visit Nokia service center and...

Thanks.
I guess 4.8 just won't cut it then.
Ofcourse the problem has become a lot worse now.
I went to the Nokia site and read some of the "help" files.
I am guessing that "bluetooth neighbourhood" is an XP thing.
Ain't much good for W98se.
Anyway, now I can't boot. I always get "windows protection
error...."
Even after a safe boot, it still locks up.
Maybe what caused it was that I accidently double installed a bit
from the mini-cd and had double "bluetooth virtual RS232 port"
listings.
I deleted them from the device manager -- or what ever.
So now my PC is not working. Luckily it is NOT my main machine.

Coreect you need at least version 5.5 firmware in the 6310i, and for
PC Suite you need version 4.88 from Nokia. You'll also nooed the
latest bluetooth stack for your dongle. Then connect to the PC Suite
Connectoid on the phone and you're away.
Works fine with Win98SE and my e740BT as well.
